Market Marva Is Getting Ready to Launch: Join the Journey

THE ROAD TO THE PILOT

Market Marva is being built around Caribbean businesses and the people who buy from them. The pilot reveal is planned for when readiness checks are complete, with a limited group of vendors. The purpose of starting small is practical: give the first sellers room to prepare good listings, check the shopping journey and establish reliable service before the marketplace grows.

That means the reveal is a milestone in a wider process. Shopping will open after the readiness checks are complete; joining a waitlist or submitting an application does not guarantee approval or a launch placement.

What a useful marketplace needs

A customer should be able to understand a product without sending five messages to the seller. A seller should know what they have promised and how to fulfil it. We are focusing the pilot on those fundamentals: clear product information, accurate availability, straightforward order handling and a useful connection between the store and the business behind it.

For shoppers

Look for clear descriptions, useful photographs and seller information. Use launch updates to learn when the first catalogue is ready, rather than expecting the current prelaunch site to accept orders.

For businesses

Prepare a small catalogue you can fulfil consistently. A focused selection with complete details is more useful than a large collection with missing prices, unclear variants or uncertain stock.

The milestones to watch

  1. Vendor open call — Wednesday as preparations progress
Businesses can express interest and begin the seller application journey.
  2. Verification and review
Applicants provide the requested business information. The team reviews the application and asks for clarification where needed.
  3. Store preparation
Approved sellers prepare product content and operational details before any store is released.
  4. Limited-vendor pilot — planned for Friday as preparations progress
The team checks readiness before opening shopping. Updates will explain what is available and what comes next.

Three things sellers can work on today

Choose your opening range. Start with products you know well and can keep available. Decide which sizes, flavours, colours or pack quantities are genuinely ready.

Write down your fulfilment plan. Know who packs an order, where stock is held and how you will communicate delays. Don’t promise delivery dates you cannot support.

Check the content. Photograph the actual item, record its specifications and remove unsupported claims. If a product needs handling or storage instructions, include them.

Stay connected to the launch

Shoppers can join the launch-update list. Businesses can start with the seller waitlist and read the application preparation guide. We will share progress as the pilot takes shape, without asking you to guess whether shopping is open.
